The full guide
Youth Mobility is a working-holiday-style visa for up to 2 years (up to 3 for Australia, Canada, and New Zealand nationals, who can extend by a year) — no job offer, sponsor, skills test, or language requirement at all. The entire gate is your nationality: only a small, fixed list of countries/territories currently participate, and most African nationalities are not among them. Three participants (Hong Kong, Taiwan, India) allocate a limited number of places by random ballot rather than open application.
Cost: £340 (from 8 April 2026), plus the Immigration Health Surcharge (around £776/year)
