Student visa requires a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from a licensed Student sponsor before you can apply — there's no way to apply speculatively without an offer. Many applicants never need to sit a formal Home Office English test at all: universities teaching degree-level courses can self-assess your English at B2 as part of your offer, and a UK-taught or English-taught degree (verified via Ecctis) also satisfies the requirement without a test.
Cost: £524 (from outside the UK) or £544 (from inside the UK), plus the Immigration Health Surcharge (usually £776/year for students)
