This is Ireland's fast-track route for non-EEA researchers: instead of a normal employment permit, an accredited Irish research institution signs a formal Hosting Agreement with you directly, which is permit-exempt. It only covers genuine research roles — you must spend at least 70% of your role's time on the actual research project, and you need a signed employment contract in place before applying for entry.
