Category A isn't only for Nobel-laureate-tier recognition — China's underlying classification is a genuine points system (85+ points = Category A, 60-84 = Category B), and one path to 85+ is purely salary-based: roughly 6x the local average social wage (about RMB 71,600-74,600/month in Beijing/Shanghai as of this pass), with no separate 'internationally recognized' endorsement needed. Recognized talent/awards is a second, independent path to the same classification.
