Express Entry isn't itself a visa — it's a ranking pool covering three programs (Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades). You create a profile, IRCC scores it under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), and the highest-ranked profiles get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in periodic draws. Meeting the minimum FSW criteria only gets you into the pool — your CRS score determines whether and when you're actually invited.
Cost: CAD $1,525 (processing + right of permanent residence fee) per principal applicant, plus biometrics
