This is a formal hosting-agreement route, separate from the points-based Red-White-Red Card categories — there's no scoring grid to game, but you cannot self-petition either. An approved (or approval-exempt) Austrian research institution must sign a real hosting agreement confirming your qualification for a specific research project before you can apply, and your salary/stipend under that agreement is what's actually assessed against Austria's subsistence-level requirement, not a separately-stated visa minimum.
